Insurance Information

All students who are enrolled at the University and are taking five or more credit hours are automatically assessed the Student Health fee in tuition costs. This fee includes the basic health insurance, dental benefits, and access to all the services provided by the Center for Student Health and Counseling.

Included in the basic benefits are partial payments for hospitalization, physician's home and office visits, ambulance service, x-ray and laboratory work, surgery and pregnancy expenses.

Please note: Students who drop below the 5 credit hour limit before the enrollment deadline will have their health fee refunded. If a student needs to drop for medical reasons and wishes to continue to have access to SHAC and insurance, they may appeal to do so by contacting Christi Ziegler (Insurance Rep) at 503-975-4292.

Please be aware that most self-support or course credits received from TV, Internet, Video, or Satellite are not eligible for the student health fee/basic insurance or supplemental insurance. To read the full description of Self-Support classes please click here.

A voluntary insurance program is also available for students who have the Basic Plan. The Supplemental Plan offers additional coverage in addition to the Basic Plan maximum. To learn more or enroll in this plan, call Wells Fargo Insurance Services at 1-800-853-5899 by the Add/Drop deadline or click here for their website.
